At Seattle Head, Neck & Plastic Surgeons we feel very fortunate
to have our own fully staffed, on-site surgery center. Our
surgical environment truly provides our patients with the
ultimate in convenience comfort and care.
The First Hill Surgery Center was established because most
of the procedures we offer our patients do not require
overnight hospitalization; a short recovery time is all
that is often needed. We, therefore, provide each patient
with a highly qualified, personalized surgical team to monitor
their procedure and recovery. We not only avoid putting the
patient in an unfamiliar hospital setting, but we also save
the patients the time and money generally associated with a
hospital stay. Our staff is thus able to control entirely the
level of individualized care each patient receives. Patients
can enjoy the convenience and privacy of our surgery center
location, and family members and friends can visit with the
patient up until the time their procedure begins. Also, family
and friends are welcome to remain in any one of our waiting areas.
The First Hill Surgery Center is conveniently located in Suite 130
(across the hall from our main office). Our surgery center is Medicare
certified and is a member of both the
and the Freestanding Ambulatory Surgery Center Association of
Washington State (FASCAWS).
Safety is our primary concern, and the First Hill Surgery Center
is a full-scale accredited and Medicare-certified ambulatory
surgery center, designed from the outset with the special needs
of surgical patients and general anesthesia in mind. Our patients
are cared for in a compassionate, considerate and confidential
manner by a professional staff comprised of expertly trained
surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists. The anesthesiologists
are all hospital-based and are associated with PAS (Physicians
Anesthesia Services, the group that provides anesthesia services
at Swedish Medical Center). We offer a variety of anesthesia options
including general anesthesia, monitored sedation or local anesthetic.
Our recovery room features up-to-date monitoring equipment, and more
nurses than patients, assuring that each patient receives expert and
individual care.
Our surgical rooms are thoroughly equipped and technically advanced
operating facilities, with the latest in Laser, liposuction,
and endoscopic equipment, meeting or exceeding the standards
of area hospitals.
Our surgery scheduler arranges for surgery to be done in the
First Hill Surgery Center or one of the hospitals in the area
